Anurag Trades

Nine in ten F&O traders lose money.
Almost none of them lose on analysis.

They lose on size, on averaging a losing position, and on taking the next trade to recover the last one. Anurag Trades teaches the other half - how much to put on, where you're wrong, and when to sit out. Nifty, Bank Nifty and large-cap equity, taught by Anurag Varun.

SEBI's study of individual equity derivatives traders, FY22-FY24: 93% ended in a net loss. The average loss was around ₹2 lakh per trader.

An expiry-day trade that didn't work, closed for ₹3,360. No averaging, no second attempt. This is the page that matters - the one where the plan held even though the trade didn't.

The method

Position size before direction

Decide the rupee loss you can take before you look at the chart. One lot of Nifty moves your P&L by ₹75 a point - that is the number that decides your size, not how sure you feel.

No averaging a loser

The single most expensive habit in Indian retail trading. If the stop is hit, the trade is over. Adding to it is a new trade you never planned and cannot size.

Four setups, not forty

Opening range, trend pullback, range reversion, and a weekly-expiry play. Traded until they're boring. No indicator stacking and no new strategy every Monday because last week went badly.

Expiry is a trade, not a lottery

Thursday and Tuesday expiries have their own behaviour - theta, the 2:30 pm squeeze, the way premiums die. You learn when they're worth taking and, more often, when to stay flat.

Costs are part of the edge

Brokerage, STT, exchange charges, stamp duty, GST. We count them into every setup, because a strategy that works gross and loses net is not a strategy.

Review every Saturday

Winners get the same scrutiny as losers. The journal is where the edge actually shows up - and where the habits quietly costing you money become impossible to argue with.

Anurag Varun

I trade Nifty, Bank Nifty and large-cap equity on the NSE, and I teach the way I was taught the hard way - by keeping records. My first two years went the way most F&O accounts go: right about the direction often enough, wrong about the size every time, and convinced that the next trade would square it up. That is an expensive way to be correct.

What I teach is the part that survived: a small set of setups, a fixed rupee risk per trade, and a journal that doesn't flatter me. No profit screenshots, no "90% accuracy", no promises about returns - you have seen enough of those on Telegram. If you want calls to copy blindly, we won't get along.
